Nowadays, it is common to insert pictures created using digital camera into Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. The problem is that inserting just a few of these pictures can make the document file size huge.
Is there a simple way to reduce the document file size? Yes, below is the illustration for using Microsoft Office 2002 or 2003.
In this illustration, three pictures are inserted into Word and saved as Document1.doc
Do you notice how big the Word file is? It is about the sum of the three original picture files!
Here are the steps to reduce the Word file size. They are the same for PowerPoint document.
Double-click on one of the pictures in Word to bring out Format Picture window.
Click Compress... button to display Compress Pictures window.
Select All pictures in document and click OK button.
Click Apply button for the following window and OK button to exit Format Picture window.
Save the Word file. In this illustration, the file is re-saved as Document2.doc.
Can you see how much file size has been reduced?!!!
